Pruning in the Summer months – when you prune too much there is a very strong chance that the heat will burn and kill the bushes, trees, shrubs and plants that you have pruned hard.

Remember :

• to prune to the conditions. If you are in Perth, the Perth heat can be quite vicious.
• the best time to prune bushes, trees, shrubs and plants is during the cooler months around April / May before the full winter kicks in and after the summer heat.
• the best time to prune citrus trees is soon after harvest in winter to early spring before buds start to appear or bud break
